Carlo Stumpo, CEO of Internet & Idee spoke in the First Commission of the Regional Council of Calabria on the proposed law on ‘Provisions concerning the use of artificial intelligence systems in the regional sphere’, a law that aims to regulate and promote the use of AI in Calabria, with particular attention to the participated companies and with the aim of fostering the spread of Artificial Intelligence in the various economic and social sectors of the region.

The draft law guarantees a more transparent, accessible and secure adoption of AI and provides for: a regional register for all those working with AI (companies, start-ups, schools, institutions, universities, etc.), the awarding of prizes in regional calls for tenders to those on the register, and the establishment of a specific regional office that will be entrusted with the coordination, control and dissemination of the responsible use of AI.

Internet & Idee is strongly committed to the promotion and responsible adoption of AI, a commitment aimed at improving the quality of services offered in every sector. From actively supporting citizens to creating innovative solutions for the sustainable development of territories, the company develops and applies AI technologies in an ethical and transparent manner.

Our CEO commented on the initiative promoted by the Calabria Region as follows: ‘I thank the President of the First Commission, Luciana de Francesco, for her involvement in this laudable and relevant project, which will significantly contribute to addressing the challenges related to AI, providing our region with additional prestige and benefit in terms of speed, accuracy and operability related to business dynamics in a broader sense. The proposal fully reflects I&I's corporate philosophy, which has always been committed to ensuring a more innovative and sustainable future.

It was an honour to be able to participate proactively in the proposed law, which I hope will make our region stronger and more competitive. These moments of confrontation and growth are essential for obtaining concrete results and for directing the use of new technologies in the best possible way while also preventing their misuse.’
